This policy explains what data StockVane (“we”, “the site”) collects when you visit www.stockvane.com, why, and what choices you have. Last updated September 2026.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like most websites, our server records each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser’s user-agent string. These logs are used for security, debugging, and basic traffic measurement, and are kept for a limited period.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, rough location, device type, how visitors arrive). Google sets its own cookies for this. See Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies.
- Account data. If you create a StockVane account, we store your email address, a username, a hashed password, and your account activity on the site (such as pages viewed against any free daily allowance, and membership status). We do not sell this data.
- Payment data. Membership payments are processed by third-party providers (Stripe and/or PayPal). Your card number is entered on their systems, not ours — we never see or store full card details. We receive a confirmation, the amount, and a payment reference. See the Stripe and PayPal privacy policies.
- Email you send us. If you email [email protected], we keep the message to handle your request.
Cookies
We use cookies for: keeping you logged in, remembering display preferences, and Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies will stop login from working.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links to brokers and services are affiliate links (disclosed on our Editorial Standards page). When you click one, the destination site may record that the referral came from StockVane. We may receive a commission. We do not pass any personal data to those partners ourselves.
Content delivery
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes requests to protect the site and cache content, and which may set a security cookie. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers named above (analytics, payments, hosting/CDN, email), and only as needed to run the site. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose data if required by law.
How long we keep it
Server logs and analytics data are retained for a limited period. Account and billing records are kept for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. If you have an account, you can also update your email and password from your profile, and request account deletion. Some records we are required to keep for legal or security reasons.
Children
StockVane is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
