Quant Rating track record

Two views of how the StockVane Quant Rating lines up with returns. The first is descriptive — how today’s rating groups have moved recently. The second is a genuine forward test that grows as we record a rating snapshot every trading day.

What each rating group looks like today

GradeStocksMedian P/EMedian div yieldMedian 1‑yr return
B1023.42.11%+0.4%
C5727.81.32%+40.1%
D3320.81.85%+26.7%
Tracked universe, median+33.4%

Read this as composition, not a scoreboard. The rating blends three inputs, so no single column moves cleanly with the grade — B-rated names sit at more moderate valuations than the expensive C group, while many D-rated stocks are cheap but carry weak momentum or falling estimates. A group can also show a large trailing return precisely because a stock is marked down after a big run leaves it expensive. Whether the rating helps from here is the forward test below.

Forward test (recorded daily)

We began snapshotting every stock’s Quant Rating and price on 8 Sep 2026 (2 snapshots so far). Once there is at least a month of history, this section will show the forward return of each grade cohort from every snapshot date — a real out-of-sample test with no look-ahead. Check back.

Past behaviour is not a forecast and nothing here is investment advice. How the rating is built: Data & Methodology.
