Cookie Policy

This page explains how StockVane (“we”, “the site”) uses cookies and similar tools when you visit www.stockvane.com, and the choices you have. For what personal data we collect more broadly, see our Privacy Policy. Last updated October 2026.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file saved on your device when you visit a website. It doesn’t identify you by name, but it lets a site recognize your browser on a later visit. We also use a small number of similar tools — local storage and anonymous identifiers — for the same purposes.

2. Why we use cookies

2.1 Essential / core functionality. These cookies keep the site working: signing in and staying signed in, keeping your session stable while you browse tools and data, and completing checkout. If you have a membership, our payment processors (Stripe and/or PayPal) may set their own cookies during checkout to prevent fraud. Cloudflare, which serves and protects the site, may also set a security cookie. Blocking these cookies will break login and checkout.

2.2 Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — which pages and tools are used most, how quickly pages load, and where errors occur. Google sets its own cookies for this; see Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies. This data is aggregate; we don’t use it to identify individuals.

2.3 Functional preferences. These remember your choices on the site — how you want data displayed, and any saved watchlists or filters — so the site feels faster and more personal on your next visit.

3. Advertising and affiliate cookies

Some outbound links to brokers and other services are affiliate links, disclosed on our Editorial Standards page. If you click one, the destination site may set its own cookie to record that the referral came from StockVane and whether you signed up. Those partners control their own cookies, not us, and mostly use them to measure whether a link converted. We never use cookies to sell your data.

4. Other tracking tools

Alongside cookies, we sometimes use tracking pixels, local storage, and anonymous IDs for the same purposes described above: keeping the site working, measuring performance, and supporting affiliate programs. We don’t connect these IDs to your personal information unless you give it to us yourself, for example through an email sign-up.

5. Your cookie controls

You can turn off or delete cookies, or set your browser to warn you before a site saves one, at any time. Turning off non-essential cookies won’t affect your ability to browse the site, but turning off essential cookies will stop login and checkout from working.

6. Our approach to this data

We use cookie data to see how StockVane is used and performing, not to track individuals. We look at patterns — which features get used, where pages are slow, what referrals convert — not at who you are or what you personally do on the site.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as StockVane changes — new features, new analytics tools, or changes in the law. We’ll always post the latest version here with an updated date at the top. Questions: [email protected].
