Editorial Standards

This page explains how content on StockVane is produced, reviewed, and corrected, and how the site makes money. It applies to every article, company description, and data-derived read on the site.

How our content is produced

StockVane content falls into two categories.

  • Stock pages assemble price, valuation, financial, ownership, dividend, analyst, and technical data into a consistent set of tabs. The figures come from a licensed market-data feed; the layout, the calculated fields, and the rule-based “Quant” reads are ours. How each of those is derived is documented on the Data & Methodology page.
  • Articles (analysis, forecasts, explainers) are written by a named contributor, working from the same underlying data plus public company filings, earnings materials, and reporting. Every article is read and edited before publication.

Use of automated tools

The “Quant”-labeled scores on stock pages are produced by a rule-based StockVane algorithm running on data already described on the methodology page. No large language model or external AI service is called to generate them. Where software assists with drafting or data formatting for articles, a human contributor is responsible for every published claim, number, and conclusion.

Accuracy and corrections

We aim to be accurate, but data can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and company descriptions and headlines are aggregated automatically rather than fact-checked line by line. If you spot an error — a stale figure, a broken chart, a wrong statement in an article — email [email protected]. Substantive corrections to articles are noted at the foot of the piece with the date.

Independence

Coverage decisions are made by StockVane. No company, fund, or third party pays to be covered, to influence a rating, or to shape the conclusion of an article, and we do not accept sponsored posts presented as editorial.

How StockVane makes money

StockVane earns revenue in two ways, and both are disclosed here in full:

  • Affiliate links. Some outbound links to brokers and research services are affiliate links. If you open an account or subscribe through one, StockVane may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. These relationships do not affect our data, our ratings, or what we write. Affiliate links are the only paid links on the site.
  • Membership. A paid membership unlocks parts of the site (see the pricing page). Free content is not written differently to push the upgrade.

Not investment advice

Nothing on StockVane is personalized investment, financial, tax, or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. See the full disclaimer.
